Zermatt is located at the foot of the majestic Matterhorn mountain in the Swiss Alps at an altitude of 1'620 m (5'315 ft). This idyllic mountain village has developed into a perfect summer and winter Alpine resort for rest, relaxation and meetings. There are no motorised vehicles in Zermatt. Besides electrically-powered cars and bicycles, the only form of transport allowed is horse-drawn sleighs and carriages!

The prestigious five-star Hotel Mont Cervin is an ideal congress venue. Located in the heart of Zermatt, it offers a combination of the refinement of the Leading Hotels of the World with modern conference facilities. The entire hotel has been booked for NP2D so that participants can fully benefit from its infrastructure.

Transportation, Access, and Parking


Zermatt is readily accessible by air, rail or road. The village being a car-free resort, parking is available in the nearby village of Täsch.

The official language to be used in the Congress is ENGLISH.


Climate & Clothing



The weather in Zermatt, being in the Swiss Alps, is generally cold and dry throughout the year. The temperature in April is around -2° and 13°C. During the congress, casual and semi-formal attire, good shoes (fit for snow and cold) and rain equipment are strongly advised.


Passport & Visa



Every traveller must have a valid passport. Visas are required for a continuous stay of more than three months. If your stay is shorter than three months you only need to bring your valid passport with you. This applies to citizens of the following countries: countries of the American Continent (except Belize, Dominican Republic, Haiti, and Peru), Europe, Japan, Australia and New Zealand. Insurance



The organizers will neither be responsible for accidents, loss of valuable belongings nor the cost of travel for the participants during the congress.
